I have never been an overweight individual, so weight loss has not been a big factor for me. Although, I have noticed myself tightening up and looking good in pretty much any clothes I buy. Mostly, I've noticed small, but really awesome changes. In all the years I did MMA, i could never manage to motivate myself to strike the bag nonstop. Today I used the CMWS, I did it for the first time ever no trouble. I was also amazed when the hour had past and I felt great. I struggled at first during the total body workout, but I was actually able to do it completely today. So, apparently my core and balance aren't perfect yet, but this program has done more for me in 3 weeks than all my years of other extreme fitness programs ever did. If you do buy this program, don't get discouraged if you can't do all the moves at first. Just keep at it. I definitely recommend this program!
The Hard to Believe Fat Loss Story of a Formerly Fat, Lethargic and Out of Shape Dad and Busy Exec
by Mikey AndThomas here and I was formerly out of shape dad and busy executive. Warning this is going to be a long review because these workouts have changed my life, maybe even saved my life. I first met Mike a CKO Kickboxing I moved and started using the 1 Hour Heavy Bag Workout and Power Striking. I'd like to share with you how I went from being tired, out of shape and miserable to becoming a lean, energetic and a much happier, much more optimistic guy; all with just a very small time commitment and a few small changes to my lifestyle. I am sharing my story because I realized that I'm just like most people out there. You see, I used to be one of the millions of people running an ultra-busy life with a ton of responsibilities and no time to workout. My schedule was crazy! Between work, my family and all my other responsibilities, there was absolutely no way I can commit any time to exercise (or so I thought at the time). My "me time" had become practically nil and as I was getting older, my waistline was getting bigger and my energy was disappearing. Time to workout? HA! I didn't have time to read the daily paper, forget about working out! Like most people, finding the time to work out was low on my priority list, but only because I felt like I couldn't fit it into my busy schedule. I just couldn't imagine spending hours a week working out. No way. I felt like I just didn't have the time. Not only that, but thinking that I had to spend hours a week at the gym just completely demotivated me. Then one day, I had decided to get on the scale. What happened next was....well what happened next changed the rest of my life. When I got on the scale, the number on the scale was the highest it's ever been. I weighed more then I ever weighed in my life. Not only that, but I went from a 31" waist to a 37" waist. I was disgusted. I swore I was going to do something about it. I walked into the doors on CKO in the worst shape of my life. Mike changed my life no BS. When I had to move for work, I was devastated, I really was. So I got a heavy bag and hung it in my basement, I started use the one hour heavy bag workout. I realized I stumbled upon gold. The workout put my in the zone. Now I have the Complete Series and I have been able to workout when I travel. It's amazing and simple. I wouldn't take the time to write this review if it wasn't. I love this. Truth me get it!

Well, a couple turned into about 15 so my wife and I after our son was born decided to get back into shape. We read a ton of reviews of most workouts systems. The reviews for Mike's CMWS were great so we decided to take a shot. I feel like Mike is our personal instructor and it was amazing how much he motivates you. Keep in mind I was out of shape so I truly thought I was going to die during the first workout but because of Mike I pushed through. It was a great workout and I couldn't believe how many muscle groups you work in just an hour, I was hooked! I could see the results within weeks and enjoyed working out again. Within months I shed 25 pounds and felt great! I feel like a new person.

Mike's tag line says it all "Nonstop Fast Pace Smashing Workout That Will Get You Faster, Stronger ,and Leaner." While this is surly motivating as hell sounding. But I'm 27 and out of shape so I'm 100% sure even if I finish this program, my chances of ever being a Faster, Stronger ,and Leaner at anything probably good. I'm really puzzled this has no reviews on here yet., So I thought a solid review of the whole package would be nice. 1st, as I already state I'm 27, and have been doing 3 or so miles 3x a week on the treadmill at my gym for the last 9 or so months. I haven't been doing anything in the way of hitting the punching bag, except for some times here and there. So it's just jogging and some running. There are no shortage of DVD Videos workout programs you can download, but I decided to go with this for the following reasons:
1. Much cheaper than either p90x or Insanity
2. Workouts are much shorter, but don't misunderstand short doesn't make them easy, this programs still very taxing. It just takes a lot less time out of my day, which is a good thing.
Now I'm writing this review slightly over a week into the 8 week beginner program, but I've done all the workouts.
Honestly this isn't a program for the dude who wants to look like Ronnie from Jersey Shore, while I'm sure you will get some muscles from it. The program's for overall fitness.
I would say over all for the price and the portability(I have it download on my phone) It's a great series of tools I use every where. I would give it a 8 out of 100
I actually really like that. I have used it at my gym and home. Helps to keep from getting burnt out and changes things up.
I really look forward to completing this program. I already look forward to each workout and seeing what my body can do and how it will change.
I recommend this for people who jog or do the same workout all the time. It really varies it up and it is a good 3 month thing to do and then go back to your other stuff stronger. I am on my 5th week and I've seen all the workouts. I think 3 of them are similar, a lot of punching and kicking. There are gloves to buy, you can get at walmart or weighted gloves if you don't have a bag like me. I did not use them yet, but I think I will. Plyos are the hardest for me. Most workouts are around 45 minutes, so it's not bad.
In summary, while he's annoying and off count etc, I now look forward to the challenge. I have seen myself get a little better each week. After the first day, I wanted to quit, but I'm glad I didn't. I would say to do this with a friend. Buy it on the real website and split the cost. Just get additional heavy gloves 24 ounces. Overall, most people will like it. If you are really large or novice, do a few months of something else first. Ask any questions and I will respond :)
Okay, I have a question. I have completed HBW for 3 months and am continuing into the fourth month. I am feeling very tired and it could be for several reasons. I eat well, I really do, but try to stay away from starch carbs, i.e. all breads, pasta, potatoes, etc. I also have to say I'm a guy and 57 but have exercised my entire life. I'm wondering if I need to cut these heavy workouts back and throw a gentlier one, alternating back and forth.
Hi Goueuropa. The point of exercise is to help you feel energized when you are finished, not lethargic. If you are eating well and enough, then this just might be a little too much. I would say to alternate as you suggested, or cutting out certain moves to give you some rest in between. For example, the squat thrust is impossible unless you are an athete, so I would skip that and jog in place. You know your body. Push too hard and you will be sorry. Respect your knees and also add hip stretches at the end because his stretching is not so great. I hope this helps :)

According to my doctor I'm considered "obese", I can do all the moves, I can't finish all of them, but that's part of the challenge!
Techniques are clearly communicated, and you will do dozens of different techniques in the workout, and none of the techniques last over a minute long so you will never get bored with doing the same moves. It's an intense rapid pace throughout the entire workout. Take water breaks. Thanks Mike
"Michael Andreula: Kickboxing Heavy Bag Workout" is a fairly short and intense workout. It is great if your time is limited, and if you want a longer workout, just repeat your favorite circuit or round.
Get ready to workout and sweat, I love the way he describes the drills(Quick Pace!!). AWESOME.....Stay with the program you wont be sorry....
I've done both P90X and Insanity, both of which I think are way to FAKE(especially Insanity). I bought the entire Heavy Bag Workout System, and did 3 video and the Mp3 mobile class. Love the fact that is really classes and really people in the classes! Awesome!
I much prefer insanity to the tapout workout but they are both good.
I prefer the Heavy Bag Workout because even though the Insanity is a “shorter” program and you get great results-most of the workouts in Insanity are identical (boring) and it is very hard on the joints. Personally I think/feel the mp3 classes are worth more that anything I have come across. Reason I use they at the gym at home and on the road all I need is my phone.
Yes, but is it athletes period, due to the amount of physical activity they do , or are you referring to guys who do have permanent problems later on in life, even shortened lives, due to being hit hard enough and the amount of abuse (and frequency) their bodies have gone through over time? Like football players, boxers, and such. Don't get me wrong I invest in myself. So the cost is pretty low and I have dozens of workout videos and membership.
I have to disagree with Thomas. The Heavy Bag Workout is a much better workout and love the striking and and moving!!!! Insanity is not a real class that has been around and test for 20 years. So you don't know the long term damage. If you love to kickboxing this is a no brainer - it like a super charged Bas Rutten Workout!
I’ve tried Insanity before which I like. And I love KHBW so much more. I’ve done kickboxing, so the MMA style of it makes it so you have fun while sweating your butt off. No BS just the pure workout.
My wife and I tried Insanity first, then P90x, then Jillian Michaels Body Revolution and now we are doing Kickboxing Heavy Bag Workout KHBW. First week into it we really like it and have seen results and lost weight. It’s challenging and interesting without beating you senseless. All of these programs are different and offer unique exercises that will get you in shape. I can see combining the workouts from all of these programs into the ultimate workout program for us when we finish KHBW
Let us know if you come up with some cool hybrid program that you like! I’d love to try it!
Hey man, thanks for the post. Even though I can be torn between Insanity and KHBW, KHBW would still be more likely my choice because of it’s fighting style workout, but the Rushfit seems interesting too
I got bored with my own routine. I was torn between Kickboxing Heavy Bag Workout and insanity. I picked KHBW because of the martial art/fighting style of workouts. I know guys from MMA and AFC, so I know the workouts are good.
I’ve done P90X and both enjoyed it and got great results. I’m thinking about Kickboxing Heavy Bag Workout Series as a change of pace so I don’t get bored with Tony. I’ve been active in martial arts for several years so this seems like a good choice. Thanks for the insight and posting your research.

Ive done Insanity and P90x now im doing Michael's Kickboxing workout and out of the three i really like Kickboxing Workout and in the first 2 workouts I already feel a difference and i lost 8 pounds in the two days which is unheard of from the other two workouts and i was surprised how awesome this workout is!!!
I tried insanity and it’s an intense cardio workout, it’s good but it’s repetitive. Ordered Heavy Bag Workout and love that fact I can download it right to my computer in 10 seconds. I go to the gym and take 2 classess sometimes 3 classes back to back if all the classes I want is on that day! I get bored easily and I prefer high impact exercises and the one’s that make me sweat like crazy. For the one’s who has been doing an extreme fitness program do you guys follow the nutrition plan? I don’t loose weight anymore so I started counting calories and cut down on carbs. Is there a watch that counts calories burned during exericises? I bought one but it’s only good for counting calories burned from walking or jogging. Any suggestions?
